Welcome to Creatures of Sonaria Wiki! This Wiki is based on the ROBLOX game, Creatures of Sonaria (a.k.a CoS), This is an RPG fantasy creature survival game, with varieties of different and unique creatures to play. The game is being developed by the ROBLOX Group, Sonar Studios.

Gameplay

The Gameplay category contains Creatures of Sonaria's game features and mechanics that impact players directly or indirectly during play sessions, or upon player interaction with a certain feature or mechanic. Things like, how to navigate in different windows, how to earn or gain access to certain features or mechanics, and how to find other opportunities to improve or expand in-game experiences can be found in this category.

Main World (Sonaria)

Creatures of Sonaria Main World (Sonaria)

Sonaria is the game's primary world, where players can purchase new creatures, unlock unique palettes for customization, and grow from child to adult. The world consists of one island with different biomes and vast bodies of water that create deep tunnels and underwater caves. Note: The current map is anticipating an update in the future, as confirmed by Erythia on the Creature of Sonaria Discord.

Central Grounds

Located within Sonaria is the bustling heart of the island, serving as a crossroads to various regions of the island. Nearby lies a serene pond of drinking water, with a passageway to the underwater caverns beneath. This area is most optimal for plant-eating creatures due to its abundance of berries. Throughout the duration of real-time holidays, the appearance of this area varies!

Hot Springs

In the southeast corner of the island, south of the desert, there is an area of hot springs that staircase up to the snowy hills of Sonaria. Sonaria's inhabitants have been seen resting in these warm pools of water as well as drinking from them. There is also plenty of vegetation to live off of as a herbivore.

Swamp

On the western section of the island, a large swampland can be found. Within, a collection of ponds and tall Cyprus trees among small shrubbery that can be used as a place of hiding for both predators and prey alike. A number of the ponds tunnel into the ocean, which can be used as a means of quick travel. Logs, lily pads, and various other forms of foliage are strewn about the expanse of the swamp, and vines accompany the hanging trees. Flying creatures usually have a hard time hunting in this area due to the density of the treetops.

Redwoods

Nearby the Swamp, the Redwoods of Sonaria consists of a coniferous woodland, situated nearby a marsh to the south. A number of rocky outcrops decorate the interior of the forest, amidst vast lakes and ponds dispersed throughout.

Plains

The eastern section of Sonaria is significantly more mountainous than the rest, and features a network of caves and tunnels filled with glowing orange crystals and sources of fresh water. Beyond caves, many other peculiar rock formations can be found along this region. In the skies above, strong air currents can be commonly located, their effects being to temporarily boost the flight speed of a creature.

Desert Oasis

Towards the southeast region of the island lies the Desert Oasis. This area is commonly split into two sections, the former being rich with berries and other wildlife. Multiple sources of water are present, and both player and non-player creatures alike are abundant. This area is notably recognized by the layers of sheltering rock formations overlooking the dunes.

The latter, which is a far more arid environment, has topography that is significantly more simple in comparison. It retains a source of fresh water in the center, and berries can be found growing on the outskirts. Moving opposite of the desert's first zone to the far end of the second, a naturally formed cave can be found and utilized for shelter.

Dunes

The Dunes can be found on the outskirts of the Desert Oasis, very little resides there other than a few vegetation and a huge watering hole in its center with fish. Fliers Rock can been seen resting just nearby as well as a huge cave.

Flower Cove

Situated nearby the desert, the Flower Cove is revered as a sort of Eden to some. The area flourishes with a diverse selection of vegetation, and contains a source of fresh water. Filled with non-player creatures, it serves as a viable area of dwelling for carnivorous species as well. While expansive, this area is mostly entirely enveloped by a large cave-like formation of stone with multiple facets of entry at ground level, and dotted atop the rocky ceiling.

Volcano

The western portion of the island is covered by basalt, with a large cinder cone volcano dominating the landscape. Plentiful berry bushes and trees decorate its cliffs of basalt and grass. It also situates a small cove which contains crystals, and a lake. The volcano is dormant in-game until the eighth summer passes, at which point dramatic music will begin to play and molten lava will spew forth, meteors of igneous rock decorating the sky and landscape around it. Creatures are advised to take shelter either under large structures, in caves and or under water to avoid certain death. The event ends once the music stops and the volcano lies dormant once again.

Tundra

The Tundra is littered with massive mountains and snow, with floating rocks surrounding its perimeters. It can be found just west of the Hot Springs. Trees and other plant life are mostly vacant here possibly due to it's harsh climate. Few caves can be found around here.

Ocean

A giant body of water that is home to many of Sonaria's aquatic life. It's mostly empty, besides a few underwater plants and fish here and there as well as tunnels that lead into ponds and lakes.

Ocean is currently not being revamped or added on until mesh water is added, which will allow more features to be added to the game.

Trading

Trading is a mechanic in Creatures of Sonaria that allows players to exchange items (such as species and stored creatures) or Shooms (Shoom.webp).

What to Trade

There are three (3) different things that are tradable within the Trade World. Players can offer species, stored versions of creatures, and Shooms to each other. Each item has its own purpose and value, so it’s important to understand the difference between them before participating in trades.

Shooms

Shooms (Shoom.webp) is one of the game currencies alongside Tikits, however, Tikits are not tradable. Shooms are the most widely-accepted offer in the Trade World because it is the main game currency in Creatures of Sonaria.

In a trade, there is a limit of Shoom.webp 3,000 Shooms per slot, for a max of Shoom.webp 9,000 Shooms for all slots. This means the highest Shoom amount someone can offer in the Trading World would never exceed 9,000.

  • Players may exceed the Shoom capacity by engaging in multiple trades, called trust trades or by obtaining species that have a Shoom value that is higher than the slot capacity of Shoom.webp 3,000 Shooms. Trust trades are incredibly risky and may result in the loss of many or all items!

To offer Shooms, players must click on the top left of an active trade window, click "Coin amount," enter a desired amount, and click "Confirm" to offer that amount in a trade.

Shooms are obtained by:

  • Actively playing the game to earn 5 Shooms every 2 minutes.
  • Daily Reward
  • Buying Shooms from the Shoom Shop with Robux.
  • Trading with other players.

Species

A species allows a player to create infinite stored versions of a creature, or ‘saves’. Species will appear in the "Find a creature!" section of the Main Menu after clicking "All Creatures" to view all of the species that a player owns.

Information on the number of species of a certain creature that a player owns is available in the Main Menu on the left where tab buttons for Storage, Tokens, and Species appear. Clicking the 'Species' button will display all owned species and the number of copies of each species that a player owns.

A species will always stay in a player's inventory unless they choose to either trade away or sell a species they own only one (1) copy of for Tikits. If a player owns multiple copies and chooses to trade or sell a species, they will still own the species to create infinite copies in the game as long as they still have one species left.

Species are obtained through:

  • Rolling Gachas.
  • Using the Random Gacha Spin Token.
  • Trading with other players.

In the trade window, species can be found in the box just below the ‘coin amount’ area.

Stored

Stored versions of a creature can be thought of as one-time use versions of a species. Owning a stored version of a creature allows a player to play as a species that they do not own. If a stored version of a creature dies, players can choose to revive it using the Revive Token. All stored versions will appear under Creatures or in the Storage on the Main Menu.

  • Customizable stored versions are tradable. This means a player can trade an untouched, uncustomized stored version, trade it, and then that person has the ability to customize it themselves. A player can create one by selecting a creature without changing its colors, spawn in the map, and menu.
  • It should also be noted that all non-regular Gacha stores can only be traded as female if the recipient owns the species. If the recipient does not own the species, they can only receive male stores.
  • Female "Robux" creatures are unable to be traded at all. Despite the fact that Developer creatures are the only creatures that cost Robux, many event creatures also count as "Robux" creatures and cannot be traded as a female even if the recipient owns the species.

In the trade menu, stored versions can be found in the lower-left box. Remember to look out for attempted scams! Stored versions only say the name of the creature, while a species will have 'Species' above it.

Stored versions are obtained through:

  • Selecting a species to play as, then menuing.
  • Buying stored versions from the Shoom Shop.
  • Using the Random Trial Creature Token.
  • Trading with other players.

How to Trade

The Trade Realm

Players cannot trade in the main game and must instead go to the Trade Realm, a seperate game which can be accessed by clicking the button labeled ‘TRADE WORLD’ in the bottom left of the main game’s menu. Once in the Trade Realm, players can begin trading.

Trade Realm servers are locked/limited by regions (Examples: US, Asia, Europe) and you are unable to trade with someone who is operating from a different region than you. If the region you are trading from is Europe (essentially meaning you live there) you cannot trade with someone from the US. VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) normally allow you to establish connection in different regions than yours. This is why many people ask if you have a VPN, since it can allow trading between different people in different regions.

The realm itself can be split into 5 different areas, those being the main plaza at the center and the 4 towers that surround it. As of right now, 2 of these 4 towers have special requirements needed in order to access them (owning 10+ creatures or having 250+ Shrooms respectively) which can be used to filter trade offers.

Checking Inventory

In order to check what creatures a player has, they can access their ‘inventory’ by clicking/tapping the book icon in the bottom right of the screen. This will bring up a list of all the species a player owns, how many of them they have, as well a list of their stored creatures.

While this list is open, players can click the icons under the ‘unlocked’ section to say they are “Trading [Creature Name]!”. This can be useful for a quick broadcast and keeping chat clear, but is less useful for more specific trades.

Starting Trades

To initiate a trade, players must walk up to another player and press E or on mobile, click on the player when a prompt to do so appears over their avatar. This will send them a prompt to accept or decline the trade. If they accept, the trade menu will appear, but if they decline nothing will happen. Similarly, if a player asks another player to trade, a message at the bottom right corner of their screen will appear asking them to accept or decline. Accepting will bring up the trade menu, and declining will remove the offer.

The Trade Menu

There are 2 main parts of the Trade Menu. On the left, a player will have tabs for things they can trade away, like species (middle), stored creatures (bottom), and Shrooms (top). On the right displays what a player and their trade partner are offering. The top row with red squares represents what a player will be giving away, and the bottom row with green squares represents what a trade partner will be giving that player.

Once a player has finished adding what items they want to trade, the trade will be finalized when both parties hit the submit button. Keep in mind that trades can be canceled if one party accepts and hits the accept button again, exits out of the menu, or crashes before the trade is complete.

⟨Note: Scammers will sometimes either offer stored creatures, or swap a species with a stored halfway through the trade. Always make sure to check if the creature has the word SPECIES above it before accepting.⟩

Glimmers

Glimmers are a characteristic of stored creatures. To check if a stored is a Glimmer in the Trade World, players must hover over an offered stored in an active trade. A pop-up will appear that displays information about a creature's stats. The last stat is Glimmer. If the last stat says "False," then the stored is not a Glimmer, and if it says "True," then the stored is a Glimmer.

To identify whether a creature is a Glimmer on the Main Menu in the main game (not the Trade World), look for the creature's name in the Creatures box on the top left of the Main Menu. If it's a Glimmer, the creature name should appear in gold with a sparkle effect.

Glimmers are obtained by:

  • Growing to 100 age for a 5% chance of becoming Glimmer.
  • Using the Weak Glimmer Token or Strong Glimmer Token.
  • Trading with other players.
